Woman of the hour

Loving all the scandal about French Justice Minister Rachida Dati’s decision to return to work a few days after having given birth to her daughter. I think that it’s amazing that she had her first child at 43 – women who have it their own way are an inspiration. I love her looks as well – she is reminds me of Beatrice Dalle , the heroine of my teen angst which is ongoing. I am guilty of a double standard I must confess – while I feel disgusted at the site of the pathetic ever pregnant Victoria Beckham squishing her still bloodied lipoed body into tiny jeans 10 minutes after giving birth somehow I don’t mind that Rachida has managed to do the same thing. The difference is I think that Rachida is a smart educated woman who serves a purpose and VB is a pointless anorexic with more money than sense. Also I like what appears to be an unsentimental approach to motherhood – not every woman who gives birth has to become a complete bore though many do. I had lunch in Westbourne Grove today and this vile woman was breast feeding her baby at the table next to us. Hideous – that’s one woman’s right they can take back. She was dining with 3 men as well - the epidural had obviously permanently numbed her dignity as well as she concern for aesthetics and other people. My friend took one look and commented in horror ‘ Rachida Dati would never do that!’

Hell is other people

I would like to call for an end to all shared dining tables in restaurants. I have just endured the most distressing lunch ever. In Divertiment on Marylebone High Street I was forced to share the community table with the most disgusting old crone ever – she had slabs of grease literally hanging from her ancient nose. I shouldn’t have kept looking but I had to keep checking it was as bad as I first thought. On the other side of me I had dopey pseudo intellectual (wearing polo neck obviously) discussing ‘prose’ in a loud voice and across from me a self absorbed girl who was just plain ugly who was talking at her mother with her fat mouth full. Why can’t they quality control people before inflicting them on others. Are you clean, not a loud bore, do you eat nicely and are you able to not blow your vile nose for the duration?

Couldn't put it better myself

Over it already

I don't like him. I didn't like the last guy but I don't like the new one either.

Intolerance

Well so much for a permissive society then, it seems to me that all you have to do is break the law and you are branded a criminal!

Slave to love

Last night I watched 9 ½ Weeks in preparation for watching The Wrestler this evening. Mickey Rourke in that movie would have to be my all time favourite man although Kim Basingers interpretation of ‘conflicted’ was pretty unconvincing. Really attractive man, great shag, wants to buy you shed loads of Comme Des Garcons on the proviso that you occasionally crawl across his penthouse floor picking up high denomination bank notes.... what kind of a deal is that?

A womans work

Oh god I need a new job or a lottery win. I have come to the conclusion that education is not for me. I have been marking papers for what seems like ages and I am on the brink of writing comments like ‘you really are a f*cking idiot’ , ‘ how dare you submit this pile of crap you illiterate c*nt’ . I can’t keep it together much longer. Staff meeting tomorrow – shall have to get up early to have a bath and organise hair into something less Pagan than today. Will endeavour to affect optimistic outlook and make inoffensive small talk while inside my head is spinning and spewing green bile and obscenities like the scary kid in The Exorcist.
