War it's just a kiss away

Iris - symbolises good news  (hilarious) or a message - like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Derives from the Greek goddess of the rainbow, Iris - the messenger of the gods who would ride on the rainbow to and from earth, in her beautiful multi-coloured robes.

Orris root is made from the iris and is used as a herbal medicine, a magickal potion and in perfumery - Frangipani. The flowers and leaves used to be strewn in front of the bride and groom at weddings (like trip wire), and it was believed that if you were foolish enough to bite the iris root you would stammer for the rest of your days. (yes damn your teeth)

I do not want what I have not got

Tonight’s full moon will appear smaller as it is as far away from the earth as it gets this evening. The moon will orbit 252,518 miles from earth, the closest it gets is 221,577 miles away from earth. The moon will appear to be 15% smaller, the tides will be less affected and the mad among us may be able to get some sleep.


Full Moon Spell For Riches

Fill your cauldron half full of water and drop a silver coin into it. Position the cauldron so that the light from the moon shines into the water. Gently sweep your hands just above the surface, symbolically gathering the Moon's silver.

Tonights full moon is called the Thunder Moon, I will lie in bed with the blinds open and leave a glass of water on the window sill to absorb the energy so the pigeons who come for breakfast and I can drink it in the morning, hopefully I will get there first.

Tonight is a blue moon; the 2nd full moon of the calendar month, rare in that it occurs only once every 2.5 years. The blue moon is also called the goal moon as it is the most powerful time in the lunar calendar for the setting of goals. The fact that tonight's blue moon falls on New Years Eve and the last day of the decade makes it even more special.

Effectively the universe has sent us a blank cheque.

I like it rough

At the very edge of England, in the dark of night, I made a list of all I desire; tore it into tiny pieces and let the waves carry it back to the one I will return to. I feel so full of life when I stand by the ocean at night, I feel that I can have everything, be anything, do anything I ever wanted to do and yet at the same time there is the part of me that just wants to walk right in like Reginald Perrin.

I have been told that if people really piss you off you should pray for them – like pray they get hit by a bus and die squished on the road in agony? Apparently not! We should send loving thoughts to the bastards and wish for them what we would want for ourselves.

I put a spell on you

Just listening to Marilyn Manson 'I put a spell on you' and I remembered this story. Once upon a time long ago - I awoke in a big cold house in the country and it was full of people who were ugly and dull ..........except for one man who was beautiful - his name was Tony - he wore vintage levis and coral coloured cashmere jumpers. I decided as soon as I saw him that I loved him and that I needed him to love me back. I had heard of the following spell - that if you want someone to love you (or at least fuck you ) then what you have to do is masturbate while thinking of them and somehow get the sticky stuff from your fingers into their mouth! Luckily enough in the big house where we were all staying - every body had been given a cup of there own and each cup had the name of its owner painted on it in red nail varnish. So I took my sticky fingers to the kitchen and smeared my spell around the inside of his cup. Shortly after my spell casting - he gave me a cigarette and we began a short affair. The thing is I forgot to ask him if he fell for me before or after the tea break.

It was a full moon last night no wonder I was restless and full of tricks all night long. The Pagans call the February moon the Snow Moon. February is the only calender month that can pass without a full moon. If I hadn't been up all night I would try and explain that mathematical fact. However the full moon nights are the best nights to pull earthly desires from the hands of fate. Once the moon begins to wane focus on pushing away what you don't want.

Bored

When I used to say to my mum 'I'm bored' she used to reply 'well, you must be boring then!'. The great thing about being an adult is that you can tell people to F*ck Off with out being in danger of a slap (if you are reasonably circumspect). This is a truly dull time of year - Christmas is at best like a row of Sundays and I have no energy or inspiration to motivate myself. I will try and do a new moon / new year spell later this evening to rustle up a little glamour and excitement. The one thing that cheers me up about this season is that it is an excellent to create wish lists for the new year.

Fair warning

Winter solstice is nearly upon us - apparently more babies are concieved during the solstice and immediatley after than at any other time of year. It is also a time of depression and despair - feelings of emptiness and futility are common (all year round in my case) but fear not the shortest day is due after which things are going to get better.. well after christmas and new year which is always a bind and then January is normally a washout. I always think my new (post resolution) life will begin in January but it never does... but you know just hang on in there ..

And then the angels forget to pray for us

I am so over it today. I was praying this morning ‘god, please give me a break, and stop me from being such a c*nt because it’s not helping’. I wonder how many people pray these days ... I think I know quiet a lot of people who do for reasons I won’t go into here but it seems like a kind of underground activity on the whole. Being a fear based individual I like it, I often sit in front of my little alter that is actually a plant holder and light an incense stick and a candle and try to make a connection. I have a loose interpretation of what it is I am praying to though, my god is like a greatest hits CD of what I consider to be the best bits of many faiths. I have a statue of Buddha – slim young Buddha not the fat smiley one. I have Kabala cards and a couple of other articles of faith. Some times I go to the Catholic Church on Leicester Square to light candles under the statue of Jesus. I love doing that it always reminds me of two things, Madonna in the Like a Prayer video and the nun rape scene in Bad Lieutenant.

The dark side

The dark moon is the most potent moon phase, heralding the new waxing moon and a time for ridding oneself of bad habits, binding spells, for exploring our darkest recesses and understanding our angers and passions. A powerful time to concentrate on things we want to draw into our lives.
